Ginger Tonic

,

Ginger has long been known for his amazing health benefits. Ginger is versatile, easy to use and can help address a long list of symptoms. Ginger’s impressive resume comes from its anti-inflammatory properties and antioxidants. One of the easiest and best ways to incorporate ginger into your life is by drinking it! Let me show you how you can make a ginger tonic, quickly and easily and will store in your refrigerator for up to 2 weeks! It all starts with just 2 ingredients, ginger and water. That is it!

Start with very fresh ginger, preferably organic. Slice your ginger into about 1/2 inch slices. You will need approximately 1 cup of sliced ginger. People are surprised when they find out they don’t have to peel the ginger! As long as your ginger is organic and has been washed, go ahead and leave the skin on. The skin is filled with additional nutrients and besides that, you will save time. As we all know peeling ginger can be a bit tedious!

Place your sliced ginger and 2 cups of water into your high powered blender and then blend away. It is amazing how 2 simple ingredients can deliver such amazing health benefits.

Blend the ginger for about 30 seconds. You never want to blend for too long because you risk the blender heating your ingredients and triggering the break down of health beneficial enzymes.

Pour your mixture through a mesh strainer to remove the pulp. Use a spoon or fork to press the pulp down, squeezing out as much of the liquid as you can. Don’t throw out the pulp! You can now put the pulp back into your blender add 2 cups of water and blend again for another batch! I usually get about 2 to 3 batches from 1 cup of ginger.

You will now have beautiful vibrant ginger tonic! Seal up and you can store in your refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. You can take a shot with a little lemon juice….. it will be strong but it is so good for you. This ginger tonic also is the base for many of my elixirs including ginger lemonade and more.
